The Tour de Yorkshire will soon be passing by the outskirts of our village. Coming via Denholme, the cyclists will cycle along the Brighouse & Denholme Road from Thornton up the hill to the heights of Mountain. From there they will be speeding their way down into Queensbury at a ‘don’t blink or you’ll miss it’ pace as they head on to Brighouse, then on towards their final finish line at Sheffield. Next month we will have a centre page pull-out with all the information of what’s going on locally in the build up and on the day of the event. Let’s hope they won’t be cycling through a freak snow blizzard. This issue we have an important update from South Square Centre and its future outlook. To keep the building open they are looking for community support. Also this month we have our business feature article from local business owner Judy Foody of Rural Relaxation Therapy and I am also writing a reply back to Kelli Lage, of Thornton Iowa, with a two part article highlighting the villages main features entitled ‘Our Thornton’. Enjoy this month’s issue, with a brew and a biscuit. Till next time.
